A new strategic program supporting innovation in the agricultural sector.

The AGROSTRATEG program focuses on four priority areas of research and innovation in agriculture – see what topics each area covers.
See what research topics are included in each area (T1–T4).
The AGROSTRATEG program is addressed to research organizations and universities, companies from the agri-food sector, and scientific-industrial consortia combining science and business competencies in joint R&D projects. Farmers and industry organizations may also participate as end users and direct beneficiaries, ensuring solutions meet real market needs and are ready for implementation.
Financial support under the program is granted from NCBR targeted grants. The funding intensity depends on the applicant category and the type of R&D work performed (e.g. industrial research or development work).
At Agri Solutions (FarmPortal & FarmCloud) we can support AGROSTRATEG projects in four areas:
We help define the research agenda, the scope of R&D work, work packages, milestones, project indicators and Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), and develop an implementation and commercialization plan aligned with NCBR requirements and the realities of the agri-food sector.
We bring R&D expertise in AI/ML, computer vision and image processing, remote sensing, geolocation (GNSS/RTK), Big Data analytics, predictive and scoring models, digital twins, decision support systems, data interoperability and IoT integration (LoRaWAN, MQTT, edge computing, ISOBUS/ISO-XML, CAN-BUS).
We can act as a subcontractor delivering specific R&D and implementation tasks — we have extensive experience in agricultural R&D projects and in building and testing solutions ready for piloting and scaling.
We can participate in a consortium as a technology partner, responsible for data architecture, system integration, AI components, the digital part of the project, and preparing a technology demonstrator and commercialization path based on FarmPortal and FarmCloud.
We have proven experience in delivering R&D projects for the agri-food sector co-financed by NCBR and regional and European funds. Our work focuses on digital agriculture, Agriculture 4.0 and 5.0, data analytics, AI, remote sensing, interoperability of systems, and IoT and agricultural machinery integration. Projects included both industrial research and development work completed with pilots and real-world implementations, with strong emphasis on commercialization, scalability, and practical agricultural use.

Contact: if you are building an AGROSTRATEG consortium and want to strengthen the digital part (AI, IoT, remote sensing, interoperability, traceability) – get in touch with the Agri Solutions team.
AGROSTRATEG is NCBR’s strategic R&D programme focused on innovation in the agri-food sector – including precision agriculture, fertiliser reduction, soil monitoring, production digitisation, and strengthening the farm-to-fork value chain.
The programme covers four areas: sustainable crop production, animal production, digital agriculture (Agriculture 4.0), and innovative agricultural techniques, including remote sensing, geolocation, AI, Big Data and resource management.
The programme is aimed at research organisations, universities, agri-food sector companies and science–industry consortia, with the possibility of involving farmers and industry organisations as end users.
Funding comes from an earmarked NCBR grant, and the level of support depends on the type of applicant and the type of work. Details are specified in the call documentation.
Projects with high implementation potential (TRL 6–9) score best: AI, soil and water monitoring, data interoperability, traceability and digital production management.
Yes. We support the preparation of the R&D agenda, definition of work packages, TRLs, implementation and commercialisation plan, as well as the data architecture and the digital part of the project.
